Beekeeping 101 was born out of my desire to learn about beekeeping. I had always been interested but never thought I would be able to pursue this wonderful hobby. One fine day I thought to myself, ‘Do you know what? Why don’t I just take the plunge?’ And take the plunge I did.
I didn’t know any beekeepers personally back then, so I had no one to ask advice from and no one to teach me the ins and outs of beekeeping. The only thing for it was to research. So I did.
I must admit that at the time the research often threw up more questions than answers, but I persevered, soaking up information like a sponge. I researched for months and months and months. Printing out this tutorial, bookmarking that article, watching countless videos. And so it went on.
Even today, I am still learning. But I also have another passion now – sharing what I have learned with others on this blog. I am by no means a beekeeping expert and I don’t pretend to be, but I enjoy the hobby and I enjoy writing. What better way to share my passion?
